Aug 11, 2026Dwayne PageAlexandria Mayor Jeff Ford has taken his oath of office to begin a full term after his election last Thursday, August 6Ford was sworn into office Monday afternoon by County Mayor Matt Adcock at the courthouse. He has been serving in an appointed role as mayor filling an unexpired term. Meanwhile, two aldermen-elect Margaret Stevens and Susan Holmes took their oath of office from the town recorder in Alexandria Monday afternoon to begin their four-year terms. Although the election commission has yet to certify the results from all the August 6th elections, newly elected city leaders are already taking office. The Mayor and Aldermen shall be elected at large”.
