The lesson is: no nappin’ while you’re packin’…A 68-year-old Florida man was arrested early Friday after Catskill police found him asleep in a vehicle with a loaded handgun at a local gas station. During the investigation, officers found Mariano Gomez Rodriguez, of Jacksonville, in possession of a loaded Ruger Security-9 pistol containing 12 rounds of ammunition. He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class C violent felony, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class D felony. Gomez Rodriguez was arraigned in Town of Catskill Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail pending further proceedings. Gomez Rodriguez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
