The cyclosporiasis outbreak has claimed its first two deaths and a food distributor will no longer carry iceberg lettuce from Mexico, according to multiple reports. Houston-based Sysco told Reuters it will not get lettuce with origins in Mexico from Taylor Farms, which officials have linked to the parasite outbreak that has caused more than 22,000 cases and more than 500 hospitalizations, NBC News reports. The Food and Drug Administration has tied Taylor Farms, which supplies grocery stores with bags of lettuce, to the outbreak but has yet to produce a positive test from the producer.
