The 49th session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission successfully addressed all the topics on its agenda. CAC49 adopted a new and significant Guidelines on the application of food labelling provisions in emergencies. CAC49 adopted the landmark new and self-standing Guidelines on the application of food labelling provi­sions in emergencies. CAC49 also reminded CCPFV to consult, as appropriate, with other international organizations during the standards development process, in line with Article 1(b) of the Statutes of the Codex Alimen-tarius Commission as set out in the Codex Procedural Manual and Strategic Goal 3 of the Codex Strategic Plan 2026– 2031. CAC49 expressed its appreci­ation for the work done by Members to find a solution to this issue since the CAC47 meeting.
