After several years of "on-and-off" reading, I became obsessed with the habit since january this year and I'm on my 16th book since then. I know it's not much but this is, by far, the most books I've read in a year and I'm pretty happy that the desire to read is not fading away. It's the opposite, actually, and I want to read more and more. There are dozens of books at home, dozens at internet shopping carts, dozens at a list I made, and every time I open any social media, a few more makes me interested in reading them. I want to read something by Nobel prize winners, I want to read classics, I want to read modern and more recent authors, I want to read authors from my country, I want to re-read books I read in my 20's. I want to read so many books I don't even know anymore what's the next one I want to read. I'm trying to stay away from "games" and reading challenges to keep the flow as organic as possible instead of making it a "job". To increase the amount of read books I'm trying, for the first time, audio books so I can "read" while I drive, work or do some other chore but I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep this up since I didn't get the same feeling as I do when reading. I'll give it few more tries before I make a definitive decision on it. I have recently made a storygraph account and I'll work to put the books on the "to read pile" but I think this will just help me put them all in the same place and not, necessarily, help me chose the next one. What about you all? What are your ways to organize and chose the next one to read? Maybe I can be inspired by some of your strategies. submitted by /u/Dangelouss [link] [comments]
