Oakwood Homes opens in Maricopa with first buyer already signedCarlea Pappe didn’t expect to buy a house last week. The Villages resident said her family had been talking about buying a home for awhile when they spontaneously toured an Oakwood Homes model at Moonlight, one of Maricopa’s newest subdivisions. The Pappe family became Oakwood’s first homebuyer in Maricopa and celebrated that milestone by attending the builder’s grand opening Saturday. The family also liked the community’s location, just a few minutes outside Maricopa, and its proximity to their daughter’s school. The family expects to close in November and Pappe said they hope to be settled in their new home by Christmas.
