The recall of fresh jalapeño products due to possible salmonella contamination has spread to grocery stores across more than two dozen states. The Food and Drug Administration said Sunday that Taylor Fresh Farms has issued a voluntary recall of retail products made using fresh jalapeños from Coast Citrus Distributors, which last week issued a recall of jalapeño peppers imported from Sinaloa, Mexico, that were implicated in a salmonella outbreak last month. The Taylor Farms jalapeño product recall follows on the heels of the company’s recall of salads made with iceberg lettuce that were distributed under the Marketside brand to Walmart stores in 15 states in addition to iceberg lettuce that was distributed to Taco Bell restaurants across several states. Albertsons also issued a recall of four products containing jalapeños that were distributed by Taylor Farms’ distributor Direct Roots to stores in seven states.
