The novel follows a Palestinian refugee living in a camp near RamallahNur Mahdi al-Shahdi isn’t quite sure who he is. When we first meet him, he’s a Palestinian refugee living in a camp near Ramallah. Nur records voice memos documenting his progress for Murad; Murad updates Nur, by smuggled messages, on his own research into the tactics of ‘Zionist colonialism’.
