The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the world-famous RAF aerobatic team is still due to perform over the town as part of Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week, which runs from August 15 to 23. It comes after the news that the aerial display team is grounded North America following its tour of the US. This is due to a prolonged period of forecasted poor weather in the north-eastern regions of Canada. However, the display set to take place on Sunday, August 16 in Lyme is still planned to go ahead and will form a key highlight of the celebrations marking 200 years of a lifeboat in the town. As is standard for any air display, the performance remains subject to operational requirements and weather conditions on the day, but the intention is firmly that the jets will roar over Lyme Bay as planned.
