DETROIT LAKES —This is not a commentary about a school board policy. What happened at the most recent Detroit Lakes School Board meeting violated each of those principles. School board members learn about this law during their orientation. Why were the board members so fearful of public input that they decided it best to spring a motion without public input? In closing, the public is owed an explanation from each of the four school board members how they plan to restore trust with the public, the administration and each other.
