Keiran McDowall, of Cornock Street, pleaded guilty to the February 25 attack that was aggravated by prejudice related to race, colour, nationality or ethnic origins.
At Dumbarton Sheriff Court on July 29, the 34-year-old admitted pursuing his victim in Britannia Way.
He seized him by the head, pushed his body, causing him to fall to the ground.
When the victim got back to his feet, he was struck to the head, causing him to fall again and strike a parked car.
McDowall further admitted acting in a racially aggravated manner, shouting at the man, swearing, and uttering abusive and racist remarks.
