West Mercia Police’s Road Safety Team enforcement officers carried out the speed checks on three different occasions. A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “While most motorists understand the purpose of speed limits, too many still choose to ignore them.” The stretch encompasses people-populated areas, including a school, a tennis club, and key entry and exit points to the A449. “Speed enforcement is carried out to encourage safer driving behaviour and help bring speeds down to an appropriate level. “Reducing vehicle speeds improves safety for everyone using the route including motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.”
