There's a new survey that proves there are basically two types of people in this world: those who read the instruction manual, and those who immediately throw it in the garbage and announce, "How hard can it be?" A new poll asked people how much of the instruction manual they read when they get a new appliance or device. Twenty-nine per cent read most of it, while 43 per cent skim through a few sections, presumably stopping when they find the sentence that explains why the red light won't stop blinking. About 16 per cent of Boomers read the whole manual, compared to 12 per cent of Gen Z. I think most of us operate on the same system:Step 1: Don't read instructions.
