Revenue rose due to gold and silver imports: Rs. 10,463 crore collected. The Indian government collected ₹10,463 crore in customs duty from May 13 to August 2, following an increased import duty on gold and silver. This included ₹10,040 crore from gold imports, ₹328 crore from silver, and ₹95 crore from platinum. Concurrently, officials intensified a crackdown on gold smuggling, resulting in 160 kilograms of gold being forfeited and 116 arrests within six weeks.
