Africa Turns to Philanthropic Funding as Education Financing Gap Widens
[]
fundsforNGOs News
African governments are increasingly turning to philanthropic foundations to support education as public budgets struggle to keep pace with growing demand for skills, technology and infrastructure.
The shift is helping finance teacher training, digital education and higher-education programs across the continent.
The foundation has also co-financed the FORCE-N program with Cheikh Hamidou Kane Digital University since 2021, focusing on digital skills, employment and entrepreneurship.
For Africa, the priority will be to use philanthropic partnerships to strengthen local capacity while building sustainable public financing for education.
As demand for digital and technology skills continues to grow, philanthropic funding is likely to remain an important source of education finance.
