Ms Onn said: “High streets are at the heart our communities, but too many have been hollowed out by years of decline. The rise of vape shops, betting shops and rogue operators have replaced the shops, services, and community spaces that people are crying out for. Opposition parties have blamed decline of high streets on the cost of business rates and urged Labour to go further.
