Tahlequah, Oklahoma - Margaret Louise Billey James, 76, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt,teacher, mentor, and friend, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 21, 2026, inTahlequah, OK. She was born on August 13, 1949, in Talihina, OK. Margaret wasthe eldest of four children born to Rayson Billey and Betty Francis Billey. As a full-blooded Chahta (Choctaw) and Mvskoke (Creek) person and a citizen ofthe Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Margaret lived the legacy of her ancestors withdignity and pride. Margaret alsoshared a special bond with her beloved nephew, Rayson James Dix, whom shedearly loved. Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Rayson and Betty Billey, asibling, Rocky Billey, and by her cherished sons, Jeremy and Joshua James. She is lovingly survived by her sons, Casey and Seleetka James; her treasuredgrandson, Faron Cason James; her brother Nicholson Billey; her sister, Sylvia Dix;her beloved nephew, Rayson James Dix; daughter-in-law Heather James; herchosen sister, Rachel Green.
