The 50-year-old victim was targeted on East Common Lane, in Scunthorpe, by 44-year-old Loki Blyth on January 19.
Blyth, of Scunthorpe, was found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent during a trial at Grimsby Crown Court that concluded last week.
The car used to hit the victim was found abandoned on Rochester Close.
Detective Constable Anna Hewins, from Humberside Police’s Major Crime Team, said: “This was a violent and deliberate attack which left a man in critical condition.
