Crash sends Belgrade, Minnesota, teen to hospital with serious injuries

BELGRADE — A 17-year-old Belgrade teen suffered serious injuries Thursday when his vehicle collided with a semitractor and trailer in Burbank Township of Kandiyohi County, according to a news release from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.
The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. Thursday on the 11500 block of 240th Avenue Northeast in rural Belgrade.
ADVERTISEMENTCole Ashburn, 41, of Willmar, was driving a 2020 Kenworth semitractor and trailer westbound and slowed to make a right turn into a driveway.
The juvenile male was transported to CentraCare — Paynesville Hospital and later airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis with serious injuries, according to the news release from Cpl.
Assisting at the scene of the crash were CentraCare Ambulance, New London Ambulance, New London Fire Department, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad and the Minnesota State Patrol.
