Total Destruction of VW Sedan Struck by Train Near Prosser and SR-22The photos released by the Benton County Sheriff's Office show a nighttime scene swarming with paramedics, firefighters and law enforcement. The vehicle struck was a black Volkswagen sedan that looks like it rolled down an embankment multiple times, but was only struck by the train. The entire passenger side, obviously where the train struck, looks like the car was hit by something massive and then tumbled repeatedly. The Richards Road railroad crossing near SR-22 in Prosser has no lights and no automated crossing arms. Richards Road near SR-22 also has multiple roads converging in the same area, so I could see how someone could miss it, especially if unfamiliar and at night.
