Glyn Hall, originally gifted by Margaret Glyn more than a century ago, has served as a hub for education and social connection across generations. After more than 150 years in use, the hall was closed due to the condition of the building. Volunteer trustees have been raising funds for its redevelopment, including £85,000 from local sources. Epsom and Ewell Borough Council has now approved a total funding award of £315,000, including the earlier £85,000, to support the project. The trustees said: "We are delighted to confirm that Epsom and Ewell Borough Council have approved an award of £315,000 (inclusive of the previous award of £85,000) to allow us to implement the approved planning permission."
