East Street and Hook Road are being affected by works to replace old gas pipes and upgrade traffic lights, with disruption expected to continue until December 24. Southern Gas Networks (SGN) is replacing ageing gas mains with new plastic pipes to help keep the gas supply safe and reliable for homes and businesses. Hook Road is closed to through traffic between Woodstock Crescent and East Street while the work takes place. Surrey County Council is also using the opportunity to upgrade traffic lights at the junctions of High Street, Upper High Street, Church Street, and East Street.
