“Not sure if ‘The Fight’ can generate the same impact that ‘Boxing After Dark’ had during its prime, but this fight would go a very long way to further validating the series. The 22-year-old recently described Zepeda as the type of opponent who can give him a career-defining fight. Zepeda brings relentless pressure and an enormous punch output, presenting Mason with a much tougher physical test than Bell did. The first two broadcasts introduced Mason and Zepeda separately. The Fight doesn’t need to duplicate HBO’s old formula, but Mason against Zepeda would be a strong place to start building its own.
