DROITWICH Salvation Army’s popular summer social programme has returned to bring older adults, families, and local residents together, writes Elizabeth Price.
The welcoming church and community hub, based in Ombersley Road, Droitwich, is running a summer programme packed with events for local residents of all ages.
The Summer Friendship Group is open to everyone but is especially popular with people aged 70 and over.
Sarah Collins, Droitwich Salvation Army leader, said: “Summer can sometimes feel like a lonely time, particularly for older people when regular routines change and families are away.
The Droitwich Salvation Army offers a wide range of activities throughout the year to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing and a sense of community.
