Donegal GAA has been left profoundly saddened by the death of 1992 All-Ireland winner James McHugh following a road traffic collision in County Cavan on Monday. McHugh, who came from one of the county’s most celebrated footballing families in Kilcar, was a central figure in the first Donegal team to lift the Sam Maguire Cup. He started in the half-forward line alongside his brother Martin as Brian McEniff’s side defeated Dublin in the 1992 All-Ireland final.
