Crews received reports at around 2.30pm yesterday afternoon that a cocker spaniel by the name of Astrix had climbed up a cliff edge in Thorncombe Beacon and had become stuck. A spokesperson for Beer Coastguard Rescue Team said: “[We were] tasked to assist West Bay and Lyme Regis coastguard teams with a dog over the cliff east of Seatown. “While on route the situation changed to a dog and two people stuck on the cliff. “The owner and a member of the public had climbed up to the dog who was about 175 feet from the clifftop and now they were stuck. “Full rope rescue was done, West bay technician brought the two adults up the cliff one at a time, and then a technician from Beer went down and recovered Astrix, a cocker spaniel.
