I was disgusted by the op-ed authored by Charles Todorich published in the Maine Sunday Telegram on July 12 (“Non-judgmental tolerance, vaunted by liberals, is not a virtue.”) To make an argument, the author should use terms correctly and/or not employ pejorative and hurtful terms. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ statement that “the dividing line in America is no longer right and left, it’s between normal and crazy.” The next time the Maine Sunday Telegram wants to run a hateful opinion piece, I suggest it also runs an opposing view. By publishing a piece representing a hateful extremist view, the paper gives the appearance of tolerance in its worst form.
