More than 80 firefighters and 20 appliances worked through the night to extinguish the fire at Holme Fen Nature Reserve. There are currently 14 appliances at the scene, with crews from neighbouring counties and further afield in attendance. Firefighters from Dogsthorpe, Stanground, the north roaming fire engine, Whittlesey, Huntingdon, Thorney, St Neots, Ramsey and Sawston attended. Local farmers have also assisted crews by providing water bowsers and supporting vehicles after claims firefighters were "running short of water". "We envisage we're going to be in attendance for a number of days if not longer whilst we bring the incident under the control.
