['Robyn Bennett']

For three decades, Chris made life difficult for those in Islington’s corridors of power.
Chris began his definitive chapter at the Gazette on August 30, 1968, having learned his craft on trade publications including Plastics and Rubber Weekly and Meat Marketing Monthly.
With an insider’s knowledge of political machinery and an outsider’s relentless skepticism, "The Judge" held power to account with a sharp pen and an unwavering commitment to the people of Islington.
For the next 25 years, Chris watched Islington’s lively political arena from the sidelines, with the same keen, analytical eye.
His dedication to the borough was returned in 2000, when he was awarded the Freedom of the Borough of Islington in recognition of his service to local democracy.
