Willmar teen pleads guilty to murder in shooting death of ‘best friend’

WILLMAR — A 19-year-old Willmar man charged in the fatal shooting of another teen that he described as his “best friend” has pleaded guilty to murder and assault charges.
Jamil Mohamed Abdille was charged with a total of 12 felony counts in the shooting reported May 12, 2025, in southeast Willmar.
Norgaard pleas are not a claim of innocence and are treated as a regular guilty plea.
Abdille had faced six counts of second-degree murder, two counts of third-degree murder and four counts of second-degree assault.
According to the criminal complaint, Abdille told officers that he did not want to talk about the incident because his best friend had died.
