Steven Coulson, 32, began assaulting the girl after getting into bed with her in the early hours of January 8, 2024, in Cambridge. When she tried to get out of bed, Coulson pulled her back and raped her. Coulson handed himself in at Parkside Police Station two days later but denied raping the victim during police interviews. "I would also like to pay tribute to the victim’s bravery in coming forward and supporting us with a prosecution." In addition to the jail term, Coulson was given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order.
