The e-bike was located by police on Buckhurst Field in Swindon after reports from the public, and was found to have been illegally modified into an electric motorcycle. PC Goode and PC Kimber, who were patrolling the area, located the bike and its rider and reported him for driving with no insurance and not in accordance with a driving licence. "Illegal e-bikes are an ongoing issue in the area, and we will take a robust approach to their use. Police have seen a rise in young people riding similar modified e-bikes. Legal e-bikes must have pedals and a maximum motor output of 250 watts, and must not assist the rider above 15.5mph.
