Engineers at Marshall Aerospace in Cambridge accepted a revised offer of a 5.75 per cent increase on base pay and allowances, following rumours of strike action earlier in the summer. The dispute began after workers rejected an initial offer of 4.5 per cent and subsequently voted for industrial action in July. The employer improved its offer following the strike vote and further negotiations, resulting in the deal now accepted by staff. Sharon Graham, general secretary at Unite, said: "A huge well done to the workers at Marshall Aerospace who stood their ground, voted for strike action and won a much-improved pay offer. "Once again, Unite’s complete dedication to achieving better jobs, pay and conditions is putting money in workers’ pockets."
