fundsforNGOs News
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) have announced the merger of the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) and the Joint Internal Displacement Profiling Service (JIPS), bringing together global and country-level expertise to strengthen data-driven action on internal displacement.
IDMC is recognised as a leading global source of data and analysis on internal displacement, while JIPS specialises in strengthening national and sub-national displacement data systems and analytical capacity.
The combined organisation will focus on improving how displacement data is collected, harmonised, analysed and used.
The organisations also intend to preserve the independence that has supported their credibility within the global displacement data ecosystem.
The merger represents a significant development for the global internal displacement data landscape.
