The GIM is one of the nine missions under the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC). Its aim is to restore degraded forest and non-forest landscapes through an integrated landscape approach. It is envisaged that the Nagar Vans will significantly contribute towards green cover and create ecological assets with the potential to improve air quality and micro-climate, according to Singh.
