Many residents noticed a large emergency presence on Higher Street, near Bradpole, early this morning with police officers attending at around 10am. A man had been found who was not responding near to the River Asker in the area of Higher Street and later, it was confirmed that he had died. He was aged in his thirties and his next of kin has been informed, Dorset Police has said. A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 7.57am on Tuesday, August 11, that a man had been found unresponsive near to the River Asker in the area of Higher Street in Bridport. “Emergency services attended and very sadly it was confirmed that the man, aged in his 30s, was deceased.
