Palestine, Texas - Billy Wayne Tidwell, 88, of Palestine, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026. Billy was born on May 8, 1938, in Trinity County to Frank Tidwell and Ruby Smith Tidwell. Billy shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Barbara Ann Dancer Tidwell. Also preceding him were his son-in-law, Don Boydstun; brothers Edward "Buck" Tidwell, Jerry Tidwell and wife, Joy; and Bobby Tidwell; sisters Margie Pennington and husband, George; and Mary Edna Stringer and husband, Paul; sister-in-law Debbie Dancer; and brother-in-law, Joe Radford. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Barbara; daughter, Debbie Boydstun of Longview; son, David Tidwell and wife, Marquis, of Palestine; grandchildren, Stephen Parton and wife, Christen, of Longview; Brett Tidwell and wife, Megan, Victoria Hyden and husband, Todd, and Kendall Tidwell all of Palestine.
