Google Maps has rolled out a major set of upgrades for its Ask Maps feature, introducing automated food ordering, hotel discovery, live public transport boards, and deeper connections to your personal schedule.
The biggest change in this update is automated food ordering.
Rather than just displaying route options or list of restaurants, the updated Ask Maps tool uses AI agents to take action.
Google is launching this food ordering feature in the U.S. first through initial partnerships with point-of-sale platforms Square and Toast.
Google has confirmed that the live transit widget, personalized email recommendations, and conversation memory are rolling out immediately across all regions where Ask Maps operates.
