Throughout school, I was taught to revere our Constitution and that the United States is an exceptional nation. The Constitution’s preamble alone was revolutionary for the 18th century and established the U.S. as the torchbearer of the free world. But somewhere along the way, tens of thousands failed their civics classes and came to despise the U.S. Plagued by an anti-American sentiment and corrupt ideas, they now believe the best course of action is to overthrow the Constitution in the name of their self-righteous hubris. The Democratic Socialists of America’s extremist-ridden 2026 platform outlines a plan to institute a “Working-class democracy,” but nothing about its political scheme is democratic.
