Great Britain Exceeds European FMCG Inflation Average - NIQ Inflation Barometer

Great Britain has recorded the highest level of FMCG inflation compared with France, Germany, Italy and Spain, according to consumer intelligence company NielsenIQ (NIQ).
NIQ launched its new EU5 FMCG Inflation Barometer, which reports on inflation levels across five European countries on a monthly basis.
Benjamin Cawthray, client director at NIQ, said, “The first edition of the NIQ EU5 Inflation Barometer reveals a slowdown in FMCG inflation across Western Europe's largest markets.
NIQ highlighted that inflation levels varied significantly across the five selected markets, as Italy’s inflation level stood at +0.6%, while France recorded deflation of -0.4%.
In Great Britain, the quarterly barometer found high inflation levels in beverages, up 3.4%, with non-alcoholic beverages recording the highest inflation of 4.4%.
