World of Swimming has teamed up with South Coast transport operator XelaGroup in a three-year partnership to remove transport barriers and ensure schools can deliver swimming lessons as part of the national curriculum. "With water safety being placed within wider personal safety learning in schools from September, there's never been a more important time to bring practical swimming and safety education together. Swimming and water safety are already part of England’s PE curriculum for primary schools. From September 2026, updated RSHE (Relationships, Sex and Health Education) guidance will formally place water safety within wider personal safety education. The partnership aims to address one of the most commonly cited barriers by schools: transport.
