As Pakistan marks its 79th Independence Day, the country’s leading telecommunication and ICT services provider, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is celebrating this shared journey through its latest campaign, “Pakistan Jitna Jawan,” highlighting the company’s evolution alongside the country and its people. The campaign draws a parallel between Pakistan’s transformation over nearly eight decades and PTCL’s own journey from a traditional telecommunications institution to a technology-led integrated ICT company. Beginning in 1947 as the Post & Telegraph Department, the organization evolved in line with Pakistan’s growing communication requirements, becoming Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) in 1996. Over the decades, its capabilities expanded from telephony to broadband, fiber connectivity, digital services, and a growing portfolio of enterprise and ICT solutions. Today, PTCL is Pakistan’s largest integrated information and communication technology (ICT) company, with nationwide fixed-line and fiber infrastructure and international connectivity through submarine cable systems.
