The Warhorse to Horsepower exhibition, which has attracted more than one million visitors since opening in 2014, tells the story of the transition from horse-led transport to mechanised vehicles during the First World War. It uses horse sculptures and historical vehicles to explain how the move from horse power to horsepower changed the course of military history. Luke Clark, exhibitions manager, said: "Our Warhorse exhibition has proven popular amongst families and history fans over the last 12 years. "The last day to visit Warhorse to Horsepower will be on August 31, 2026." Following the closure of the exhibition, work will begin on a new display titled Age of Experimentation, which is set to open in January 2027.
