Lishkara Punjabi Kitchen, on Havelock Street in the town centre, is the latest venture from ex-MasterChef star Rekha Gill. The restaurant opened last month and has been warmly received by the community. Specialising in Punjabi soul food, the restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients and draws on family traditions, all prepared with a refined culinary approach. The launch marks a return to the restaurant scene for Ms Gill, who previously ran a restaurant in Southall, London, before closing it a decade ago. She emphasises "the quality and authenticity" of the food, with the menu focused exclusively on Punjabi cuisine.
