Kyrgyzstan, Russia launch joint military exercise Center-2026

+ ↺ − 16 pxThe Center-2026 joint tactical exercise has commenced in Kyrgyzstan, bringing together up to 500 military personnel from the armed forces of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Defense, the opening ceremony of the exercise was held on August 11 at military unit 20636, Kabar reported.
The military maneuvers involve up to 100 units of weapons and military equipment, as well as combat FPV drones and army aviation from both countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by exercise director Almazbek Kozhoshev, senior representative of the Russian Armed Forces’ military contingent, deputy commander of the 201st Military Base Dmitry Lakeev, and chief of staff of the Balykchy mayor's office Gulnara Kukeeva.
The joint tactical exercise "Center-2026" is taking place from August 11 to 17 as part of bilateral cooperation between the defense ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
