Xbox is Finally getting a Platinum Trophy-Style Achievement Later This Year

The introduction of a completion reward marks the biggest shake-up to the Xbox’s Achievement system since it debuted alongside the Xbox 360 in 2005. In a recent X (formerly Twitter) exchange, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma responded to a fan asking whether Xbox would ever introduce an equivalent to PlayStation’s coveted Platinum Trophy. Even after the company’s recent overhaul of the Achievement system, the inclusion of a Platinum equivalent was highly requested. For longtime Xbox players, a completion reward has arguably been the last missing piece of the Achievement system. A Platinum Trophy is a fantastic way to track completed games and gives players many more ways to brag to friends.
