Russia Escalates Drone Strikes on Ukraine’s Naftogaz

Russia has intensified its bombardment of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, launching mass drone strikes against various enterprises within the Naftogaz Group, particularly targeting the extraction assets of Ukrnafta.
According to Naftogaz, on Aug. 9, Russian forces targeted Ukrnafta production facilities and a company drilling rig with dozens of attack drones.
Additionally, on Aug. 8, Russian drones attacked Naftogaz production facilities in central Ukraine.
According to Naftogaz, during the first seven months of 2026, Russia destroyed 32 Ukrnafta filling stations and five production facilities operated by Ukrgasvydobuvannya.
