+ ↺ − 16 pxTen police personnel and two civilians were killed during a fierce encounter between security operatives and a heavily armed group of suspected bandits in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Nigeria. The Kebbi State Police Command disclosed this in a statement made available to our correspondent on Tuesday by its spokesman, SP Bashir Usman. He added that at least 17 suspected bandits were also neutralised during the encounter, according to Punch Newspapers. “Several of the attackers were neutralised, with at least 17 suspected bandits so far assessed to have been neutralised,” he said. According to the police spokesman, the security forces also suffered significant casualties, with 10 police personnel killed and two others injured and receiving medical treatment.
