Julie Thorns, a resident of Carter House Care Home in Raynes Park, was joined by the Mayor of Merton, Cllr Shuile Syeda, for a special celebration on July 1. She spent many years caring for vulnerable newborns in Special Care Baby Units across London, including Queen Mary's, Queen Charlotte's, Roehampton, and Kingston hospitals. Alex Ulatowska, senior customer relations manager at Carter House, said: "Julie has lived an extraordinary life and it has been a privilege to celebrate this very special birthday with her. Her kindness, resilience, and sense of adventure are truly inspiring, and everyone at Carter House wishes her a wonderful 100th birthday." Carter House Care Home provides residential, dementia, and respite care for those living in and around Raynes Park.
