The rapid expansion of low-cost airlines is reshaping Morocco’s tourism industry, opening new international markets and spreading visitor flows beyond the country’s traditional destinations, according to a report by Finances News. Over the past decade, carriers including Ryanair, Transavia, easyJet, Volotea and Wizz Air, alongside Morocco-based Air Arabia Maroc, have dramatically expanded connections to the kingdom. The country received 17.4 million international tourists in 2024, up 20% from the previous year, making it Africa’s most visited country, according to UN Tourism. Morocco maintained strong momentum in 2025, when international arrivals increased by 14%, according to UN Tourism, putting the kingdom among Africa’s strongest-performing destinations.
